A brave neighbour has helped two critically injured gunshot victims after they were shot in a house robbery in Parktown North.
Vaughan Hansen jumped over the fence of his property on Sunday evening to discover that his neighbour Julian Lap, a Joburg architect, was dead. His wife Marilyn Visser and son Julian (junior) were critically injured.
"I heard someone calling Vaughan! Vaughan! I went outside and saw Julian (the son) and he said 'we have all been shot,'" Hansen said.
He said he found Julian senior and Visser in an upstairs bedroom in a pool of blood.
"I could obviously see that Julian had passed away, and Marilyn had a gunshot wound to the head," he said.
Realising that there was little he could do for Visser at that stage he rushed Julian to Rosebank Clinic.
