Johannesburg - Two men were shot dead by robbers in a Boksburg tavern on Friday, Johannesburg police said.
"Five armed men entered the tavern in Anderbolt and found the owner busy helping clients. They forced him to open the safe and then shot him on the chest," said Constable Tsietsi Lamola.
The owner's brother-in-law was also shot when he came to investigate after hearing the gunshot.
Lamola said the robbers took money, cellphones and jewellery and ran away.
Both the owner and the brother-in-law died on the scene. No arrests had been made.
A relative who had been hiding in the shop contacted the police, Lamola said.
