Randfontein - A young man and his sister are still trying to come to grips with the savage way in which robbers killed their father.
The robbers had poured petrol over Willie Klopper on Thursday last week and set him alight.
He died in hospital about 13 hours after neighbours found him outside his house in an upmarket security complex. He'd lived alone.
The last time he spoke, it was to tell his neighbours that he'd been overpowered by robbers.
"You have to be sick to do something like this," said a shattered Theuns Klopper. The 20-year-old added that they'd never be able to make sense of the brutal attack.
Neighbours who'd heard screams coming from Willie's house, went outside to find the garage on fire. Willie staggered out and collapsed.
He'd sustained 100% burns.
"My dad was a quiet man who had respect for others. He didn't deserve this," said his daughter, Michelle Genis, 21.
Police say all that's missing is a cellphone and a wallet.
