October 13 2009 at 10:07AM

A couple was murdered on their small holding in Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape police said on Tuesday.

"The bodies of a 53-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were discovered in their smallholding at Kranshoek on Monday just after noon," said Captain Malcolm Pojie.

Police were led to the discovery after finding an old BMW abandoned at a shopping centre that was traced to the couple.

The bodies were identified as Willem and his wife Julie Le Roux.

Both of them had sustained bullet wounds to the forehead and their hands were tied behind their backs.

The Le Rouxs were suspected to have been killed between Saturday and Monday.

"A family friend last spoke to the gentleman on Saturday."

Police suspected that two laptops were stolen from the premises.

Anyone with information could call Sergeant Theodore Windvogel on 044-533-3121 or 073-168-8808.

A reward has been offered to anyone with information that might lead to the arrest of the killers. - Sapa
